Bio
I have called Sierra Vista home since 1988 and have been actively involved in the community. Before launching a career in real estate back in 2007, my lengthy background in sales and management in Sierra Vista prepared me for my real estate career. First with Kinney Shoes as a manager for 9 years and 13 years with Famous Sam's Sports Grill in several positions including District Manager and Director of Human Resources. In addition to my business skills and experience, I have been a primary home buyer and seller 14 times, and we have also bought and sold investment property and vacation properties and became a landlord for the first time when I was just 23 years old. WHY DID I BECOME A REALTOR? I am a proud proponent of homeownership and believe people are crazy not to own real estate as either a primary residence or as an investor. It was that passion for real estate that motivated me to pursue a full-time career in real estate. I started my career at Haymore Real Estate where I trained under Gary Haymore who shared his experience and knowledge that set my career on track. I have been an Associate Broker at Sierra Vista Realty for the past five years. I had the pleasure of working under Bob Watkins, a true Pioneer of Real Estate in Sierra Vista and Cochise County. I learned something new from Bob every day. I wear many hats at Sierra Vista Realty including residential/ commercial sales and residential/commercial property management. I am a Full-Time Real Estate Sales Agent specializing in working with first-time homebuyers and investors. I am also a Full-Time Property Manager managing over 200 single-family rentals and a number of commercial rentals. REALTOR COMMITMENT If you are passionate about what you do it is your responsibility to "be involved" and to "give back" to your peers. • I hold a National Association of REALTORS® e-PRO® designation • I have served on the Arizona Association of REALTORS® "Property Management Forms Group" and helped design seven new property management forms that are now being used statewide. • I have served on the Board of Directors Southeast Arizona Association of REALTORS® • I have served as the MLS task force Chair • I am a past RAPAC Chair. I believe every REALTOR® owes a part of his time and money to the business or industry in which he is engaged and RAPAC is extremely important in protecting our industry • I have been a Real Estate Instructor with Southeast Arizona School of Real Estate because I believe that continuing education is the best way to protect our clients in real estate transactions • In 2008 I started a weekly real estate radio show on KTAN 1420am called Open House that focuses on local real estate issues and home ownership tips and advice and it aired every Saturday morning for 4 years because real estate is truly local and we needed a local voice for the positive aspects of real estate. COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY I believe that Sierra Vista and Cochise County is my home and I believe in being involved and giving back. • I proudly ran for Sierra Vista City Council in 2010. Though unsuccessful it was a great experience • I have served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce • I am the current Chair and commissioner of the City of Sierra Vista Planning and Zoning Commission • I am a 2009 Graduate of "Leadership Sierra Vista" • I served as Co-Chair for the "Leadership Sierra Vista" committee • I have proudly coached little league, Youth Soccer, and Basketball for many years • I am currently on the Board of Directors for United Way of Sierra Vista • I co-founded the Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation which raised money to pay for youth sports scholarships in Cochise County.
